The Story Behind Structured Nomad
Until now, Structured Nomad has mostly focused on destination highlights, the systems that support long-term travel, and what I learn while building a life abroad. This week’s Nomad Signal is a little more brand focused: I’ve published an About Page introducing the person behind the publication, myself.
Adjusting to unfamiliar places has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I lived in seven U.S. states before the age of eight before eventually settling in South Florida. For higher education, I attended Florida Atlantic University as a student-athlete, where I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees.
I then spent five years working in analytics across healthcare, mobile gaming, finance, and entertainment. That experience taught me how organizations operate, how decisions are made, and how structure can turn complicated information into something useful.
It also made me reconsider the life I was building within corporate America.
My professional experiences landed me here, where I am building an archive of resources and learned travel lessons for a niche community of readers.
In March 2026, I committed to independent analytics consulting and began traveling through Latin America. The vast majority of the weekly issues up until this point go in-depth into these experiences. The topics range from hardware setups and building a profitable online business to local cafe and dining options and tourist locations you should experience when visiting these destinations.
Aspects of a corporate career are deeply valuable for a number of individuals, but come with a number of tradeoffs that I was becoming increasingly aware of. This publication serves as a resource for ones wanting to venture away from a traditional work life and instead capitalize on global travel, location independence, and remote work. It also serves as a source of knowledge and updates for those interested in learning more about these experiences.
To conclude, this publication combines my analytical background with firsthand travel experience. Its purpose is not to portray travel as an endless escape. It is to examine what it actually takes to build a practical, sustainable, and fulfilling life beyond your home country.
